And the best dress goes to...

Photobucket

MILA KUNIS!!!! OMG, love...love...love the dress!!! Mila looks absolutely stunning! So natural and I love the way the dress just flows =)
I love watching the award shows for best dress and worst dress. I also like to see what colors "are in" for the season and who's going to be risk takers.
So who was your favorite for best dress??

Yes, we went all out for Halloween this year and we had a blast! We usually don't do 3 costumes but this year B wanted to be different. For his school Halloween parade he went as "Where's Waldo?" Everyone loved it and thought it was such a neat idea.
Later that night his friend Jordan was having a Halloween party so B didn't want to show up as Where's Waldo so instead he went as his hero...Gene Simmons and a very good Gene he was!
The next day (Halloween) he went as Napoleon Dynamite for trick-or-treating. We had so much fun getting him into character and if you know my son he's up for anything and does very good impressions. Well now it's time to plan for next year's costume!

LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER...

Photobucket

B is nuts over Star Wars!!! I think we have spent way too much money on the figurines, every time we go he thinks he needs a new one. Seriously, how many guys/girls/creatures are there???? A couple of months ago B scored big when my nephew, Justin, (who is now 21) gave him all of his old Star Wars stuff...Thanks Justin!!! Gosh, I love toys...NOT!!!! Oh well, that's part of being a kid, right?!?!
Next week I'll share another piece of B's artwork...here's a hint, I Want to Rock....

SCARLET & GRAY FEVER....A couple of days ago, my husband and B were going through the closet. B came across one of Todd's hats. This hat used to belong to Todd's grandpa Paul. Todd's mom, Lori, informed me that Todd had always admired this hat when he was a little boy so his grandma Laura gave it to him. I thought it would be cool to get some shots of B in the hat. Yes, I have quite the character for a son!!!!
The top photo is a picture of my husband when he was a little boy.....GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

HOPE...

Well for those of you who have been following my blog since day one, you might remember that my first blog posting was about Relay for Life. My mother-in-law was participating in the survivor walk and we went to support her. That was my first Relay for Life experience. One thing that I remember the most from that day was when my father-in-law, Marv, whispered in my ear "you know the saddest part of this is that some will not make it to see next year." It's so sad but true.
As I'm standing there, I had no clue that two months later, cancer would enter into my life and take my grandma.
The end of June my grandma became very ill and had a heart attack. She survived the heart attack but just wasn't getting any better. She went back into the hospital in July and we found out that she was losing her life due to cancer. Cancer!...What??? No, it can't be! My grandma was like a superhero. She was the one who took care of us when we were sick. Now, she's sick and there's nothing we could do for her, it was all in God's hands. After a long week of crying and praying she went to her heavenly home on July 27th.
It's been almost a year now, and I still can't believe she's gone. I miss her so much! I miss her hugs...I miss her laugh...I miss her cooking (enchiladas, spanish rice, chicken en mole) but most of all I miss seeing her and being able to tell her that I love you grandma and hear her say I love you too mija.
Like everyone else, my hope is that one day there will be a cure for cancer so we don't have to watch our loved ones suffer.
Embrace life!!!!!
XOXO
Erika

MY LITTLE ARTIST...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I've decided I'm going to start posting my son's artwork. It's so much fun to see a little guy like him create wonderful art. His passion for art started around the age of 4. We couldn't keep enough paper instock so he would use whatever he could find...boxes, envelopes, napkins, our hallway wall!!!! Oh and he even traced his hand on my kitchen wall...lol!!! As he got older we bought him his own sketch pad and away he went.
Braeden loves to make his own books...yes, lots more paper and staples!!!! His teacher said to me during one of our conferences that she believes he'll be an author or an illustrator when he grows up. This teacher has been teaching Braeden since he was four. She likes to share the story of when he was little that he would go up to the chalkboard and draw out a whole story and tell it from start to finish...He is now seven and she still thinks that was the neatest thing.
Well I hope you enjoy his artwork as much as we do.
P.S. This drawing that I'm posting was too big for my scanner so the sides are missing. He did this at school and I can tell he was in a hurry by his coloring but I still like it!!!

A Bittersweet Christmas

This is my first Christmas without my grandma. Today she's spending her first Christmas in Heaven with my brother, grandpa and Uncle Don.
I had a hard time getting into the spirit of Christmas but knew I had to for my son.
My grandma loved Christmas, so I didn't want to disappoint her by being a "Grinch" this year.
Sending lots of LOVE & Merry Wishes to my "Angels" in Heaven.
